PACKING HINTS AND TIPS

APPLIANCES; Should be wrapped in inkless paper or you can also utilize your kitchen towels & linens. Making sure you securely tape down the bottom of the box and always use a layer of paper for padding at the bottom and the top of the box. You can pack several small appliances in the same box.

LARGE APPLIANCES; Be sure to check the owner's manual for any special instructions before you start to pack any appliances and make sure the appliances are clean - inside and out. Be sure to coil up an leads and have the doors taped shut using CLEAR tape. Also tape down any parts that could possibly come loose, IE, the burners on your stove, the electrical cords, etc.

ARTS & COLLECTABLES; If it will not fit into a picture carton, you can put Corrugated Corners on and then wrap each piece in bubble wrap. Remember to label the items "fragile."

BOOKS; Please be sure to only use the recommended small book boxes. As larger boxes full of book will be very heavy. You can use small paperbacks to fill the sides of the box if there is extra space.

CLOTHING; Port-A-Robes are good for your hanging clothes, and you will not need to iron them when you get to your destination. Clothing in drawers should be packed in suitcases or boxes.

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT; Ideally, the original boxes should be utilized for all your electronics like TV's and stereo systems, using there original packing materials. If you have thrown this out, we may have boxes of the right size for you, and be sure to wrap the items in bubble wrap.

FURNITURE; Any furniture that can be dismantled should be dismantled. It is much safer to it to be relocated this way, especially over long distances. Place all the bolts and screws into ziplock bags and be sure to use CLEAR tape when taping drawers shut where required.

KITCHENWARE; Breakable items should be wrapped in bubble wrap or paper. Place layers of bubble wrap between each plate or bowl, making sure you securely tape down the bottom of the box and always use a layer of paper for padding at the bottom and the top of the box.

MIRRORS & FRAMED ART; Tape an X of masking tape across mirrors and paintings framed with glass. Wrap each item in bubble wrap before placing into a picture carton and be sure to mark it "fragile".
